JSailingFree Art&Design

Julie Sailing-Free is a freelance artist living in a lovely village close to Oxford and on the edge of the Cotswolds.

She began her long and varied career working as a Graphic Designer for an advertising company based in London, then moved back to her home town in Essex to work as a graphic artist/illustrator within advertising and publishing. After a few years she decided it was the right time to go freelance and accepted contracts from Cambridge University Press, Heinemann and Longmans. More recently employed as a PA for a large manufacturing company, managing a local art gallery and a customer service manager for an online retail company.

Julie has appeared as a 'Wild-Card' artist on the very popular 'Landscape Artist of the Year' programme on the Sky Arts channel, firstly on the Gower Peninsular in Wales and the following year on Plymouth Hoe.

The village Julie currently lives in has an art society of which she is a committee member. Along with other local artists selling paintings, sculptures, cards and prints in the centrally located village hall and meeting once a month for demonstrations by professional artists. Julie also displays her work in the 'Eynsham Art Window'.

One of the few good things about lock-down was finding the extra time to busy herself with making art and also being more experimental and trying new processes. Therefore, following the first lock-down she decided it was the right time to fulfil her lifelong dream of working full time on painting and creating art.

All artwork can be purchased via etsy- www.etsy.com/uk/shop/JSailingFreeArt or directly by contacting her by email- art@jsailingfreeart.co.uk

By selling my work directly to you through my website or via etsy, rather than through dealers or galleries, I can keep my prices affordable and you get original paintings, cards and signed prints at great value.

I also take commissions and can provide you with a unique, original piece of art to mark a special occasion. Maybe you have a space on a wall that calls out for a piece of art.

Please do contact me via email and we can discuss ideas etc..  A commission costs less than you think, and the pleasure of having something original and unique will last a lifetime.

Poppy Seedheads

I have always loved springtime but seeing the summer flowers follow into autumn, lose their petals and reveal their complex seedheads is truly wonderful. Revealing their muted tones of rusty orange, purple and sage is a beauty to behold. Whilst the trees and shrubs turning different shades of red, orange and purple. Nature at it's most splendid!

Working in a variety of different media with both brush and palette knife. I have a passion for colour, intensifying what I see to add vibrancy and movement
